NOTES: North of Miami and Fort Lauderdale, the snorkeling at Vista Park Reef is popular for the wide, rocky reef located 250 feet offshore in water from 10 to 20 feet deep.
The Vista Park Reef is located just south of Oakland Park Boulevard at 1A. Use the public beach access point and head offshore. The reef is about 300 feet wide and provides habitat for damselfish, grunts, black margate, spadefish and snapper.
When snorkeling off Hollywood North Beach Park, a diver-down flag is highly recommended due to the fast boat traffic moving up and down the coast.
After a long day of snorkeling at Vista Park Reef, grab a cool drink at the Mai-Kai in Fort Lauderdale.
