But there is a wide variety of marine life to observe and some grottos to explore. Keep an eye out for the coral heads, tube sponges and silversides. The clear waters offer exceptional visibility making the Rockhouse snorkelling experience like being inside an aquarium. During Rockhouse snorkeling, you may encounter wrasses, chromis, parrotfish, butterflyfish, angelfish, stingrays and turtles among the brain coral and elkhorn coral.
To reach the snorkeling on Jamaica by air, you can use either Norman Manley International Airport (KIN) near Kingston or Sangster International Airport (MBJ) near Montego Bay. The Rockhouse snorkeling dive site is located about 1.5 miles west-southwest of the middle of Negril.
If you are staying at the Rockhouse Hotel, try to get a bungalow near the restaurant for the best access to the best snorkeling.
Overall, Rockhouse is the 1st most popular snorkel dive spot of all 20 snorkeling dives in Jamaica. Several of the better snorkeling spots are nearby Rockhouse including Negril Marine Park, Booby Cay and Josephs Cave.
