North of Nassau in the Bahamas, the snorkeling off Mermaid Beach around Marsh Harbour is popular for its very colorful reef.
To reach the snorkeling on New Providence Island, most travelers will fly commercial airlines into Lynden Pindling International Airport (NAS). In case you'd like to do some snorkeling on the out islands from Nassau, you can either use Bahamas Air (which is known for late departures) or use the mail boat ferry service (393-1064).
Tip: Keep in mind while snorkeling off Nassau, the water temperture is known to vary greatly from summer (78F-84F) to winter (68F-76F).
