West of Soufriere around the Grand Caille Point south from Anse Chastanet, the snorkeling at Trou Au Diable is known for its clear waters and diverse marine life. This is exceptional snorkeling located just off the black sand beaches of Still Plantation Resort and Hummingbird Resort. Trou Au Diable, also known as Devils Hole, is a deeper dive site with waters starting at 20 feet. This rocky zone and flat coral reef is popular with marine life. You may encounter brain coral, finger coral, brain coral and barrel sponges. The Trou Au Diable snorkeling dive site is located about a mile west of Soufriere.
To reach the snorkeling on St Lucia by air, you will need to fly into either George Charles Airport (SLU) on the north end or Hewanorra International Airport (UVF) on the south end of the island. Since the roads on St Lucia can be in poor condition or even washed out depending upon rainfall, you may want to select an airport close to the set of snorkeling dive destinations you prefer on St Lucia. A rental car is recommended to access the north end dive sites, while a rental is not recommended for the south end.
In addition, there is a ferry called L'Express de Iles that interconnects Dominica, Guadeloupe, Martinique and St Lucia.
Overall, Trou Au Diable is the 5th most popular snorkel dive spot of all 10 snorkeling dives in St Lucia.
