Best Anse La Raye Snorkeling

The 4th most popular snorkel dive spot in St Lucia.

  November 18, 2016

South of Castries, the snorkeling off Anse La Raye is popular for its visibility. There is easy snorkeling just off the main beach near the pier, and there are interesting rock and coral formations to explore on the south end of the beach. The Anse La Raye snorkeling dive site is located 0.5 miles southwest of the middle of Anse La Raye (Bay of Rays). While snorkeling Anse La Raye, you may encounter the namesake spotted eagle rays.

To reach the snorkeling on St Lucia by air, you will need to fly into either George Charles Airport (SLU) on the north end or Hewanorra International Airport (UVF) on the south end of the island. Since the roads on St Lucia can be in poor condition or even washed out depending upon rainfall, you may want to select an airport close to the set of snorkeling dive destinations you prefer on St Lucia. A rental car is recommended to access the north end dive sites, while a rental is not recommended for the south end.

In addition, there is a ferry called L'Express de Iles that interconnects Dominica, Guadeloupe, Martinique and St Lucia.

Overall, Anse La Raye is the 4th most popular snorkel dive spot of all 10 snorkeling dives in St Lucia.
