Moku Hooniki Snorkeling

The 2nd most popular snorkel dive spot in Molokai.

Off the eastern coast of Molokai, the island of Moku Ho'oniki has good snorkeling opportunities, especially off the south end.

To reach the snorkeling on Molokai, you can either use an inter-island flight or the ferry boat. Mokulele Airlines provides non-stop interisland flights from Hoolehua airport on Molokai to both Maui and Honolulu. Alternately, there is inter-island ferry service provided by Hawaii Ocean Project Molokai Ferry (877) 500-6284 from Lahaina Harbor on Maui into Kaunakakai Harbor on Molokai (2 hr). There is a good early morning option from Maui to Molokai, and an afternoon option from Molokai to Maui. If you do take the ferry, keep in mind that there not typically rental car offices at the dock. If reserve a car at the airport office of Alamo Rental Car (808-567-6381), they will pick you up from the dock and bring you to the airport. Also, the locally-owned Molokai Car Rental will drop a car at the dock if you request.

Overall, Moku Hooniki is the 2nd most popular snorkel dive spot of all 4 snorkeling dives in Molokai.
