Sea Feather Bay Snorkeling

The 3rd most popular snorkel dive spot in Cayman Brac.

On the southshore of Cayman Brac, the snorkelling in Sea Feather Bay is well known for its dense marine life off a spur and groove reef formation. There are several types of coral including elkhorn coral, pillar coral, brain coral, star coral and fire coral along with many types of sponges. During Sea Feather Bay snorkeling, you may encounter parrotfish, blue tangs, squirrelfish, rockfish, wrasses, grouper, yellowtail, sergeant majors and turtles. The water depth is typically about 20-50 feet deep.

If you are an experienced snorkeler, there is a barrier reef a long swim offshore to the southwest.

After a long day of snorkeling at Sea Feather Bay, you might want to grab a cool, refreshing drink at the Tipsy Turtle Pub on Cayman Brac.

To reach the Sea Feather Bay snorkelling, follow South Shore Road to the intersection of Bluff Road. The water access is near the intersection.

To reach the snorkeling on Cayman Brac Island by air, you will fly into the Owen Roberts International Airport (GCM) on Grand Cayman Island. Then, transfer to the inter-island airline to head to Charles Kirkconnell International Airport (CKIA) on Cayman Brac Island. When departing the Cayman Islands, there is a departure tax of $37.50USD. This tax may be included in the airline ticket, but you will want to verify in advance. The best Cayman Brac snorkeling can be found year-round with typically high-clarity water. There is plentiful marine life with over 500 fish species including sergeant majors, parrotfish, barracuda, horse-eye jacks, moray eels, stingrays, turtles and occasional reef sharks. On Cayman Brac, there are two good dive shops, Dive Tiara Dive Shop and Reef Divers Cayman Brac, that can provide additional leads on snorkeling dive sites, boat tours and snorkel mask sets.

Overall, Sea Feather Bay is the 3rd most popular snorkel dive spot of all 18 snorkeling dives in Cayman Brac.
