Off the northwest corner of the Dominican Republic, the snorkeling at Cayo Arena is the most popular in the DR. Often called Paradise Island by the tour guides, it has the healthiest coral reefs around the Dominican Republic along with vibrant sea fans and sponges. While snorkeling Cayo Arena, you may encounter sergeant majors, yellowtail snapper and surgeon fish.

Paradise Island is located about 10km off Punta Ricia on the north shore of the Dominican Republic and is only accessible by charter boat tour.
