Off the north coast of New Britain Island in Kimbe Bay, the snorkeling at Restorf Island is popular for its shallow reefs and diverse marine life including the spiny devilfish. The snorkeling off this uninhabitated island is accessible by boat only. In the sand flats, keep an eye out for garden eels, shrimp gobies, triggerfish and anemones. Off the west side of Restorf Island, there are sea fans, sea whips, barrel sponges and feather duster worms in the deeper waters.
Overall, Restorf Island is the 1st most popular snorkel dive spot of all 2 snorkeling dives in Papua New Guinea.
