West of Ocho Rios near St Ann, the snorkeling at Runaway Bay offers a variety of marine life to observe. There are coral reefs just offshore that makes snorkelling at Runaway Bay enjoyable. During Runaway Bay snorkeling, you may encounter angelfish, butterflyfish, wrasses, parrotfish, chromis and turtles among the sea fans, elkhorn coral and brain coral formations.
To reach the snorkeling on Jamaica by air, you can use either Norman Manley International Airport (KIN) near Kingston or Sangster International Airport (MBJ) near Montego Bay. The Runaway Bay snorkeling dive site is located about a half mile to the east-northeast of the main Runaway Bay beach.
Overall, Runaway Bay is the 2nd most popular snorkel dive spot of all 20 snorkeling dives in Jamaica. Several of the better snorkeling spots are nearby Runaway Bay including Ochos Rios Marine Park, Pear Tree River and Rio Bueno Bay.
