Southeast of Nassau off the northend Long Island, the snorkeling at Sea Garden is popular for its big schools of blue chromis. This boat-accessed snorkeling dive site has waters ranging from 12 to 22 feet deep. It is located just east of Shark Reef and west of Hog Cay. There are numerous isolated coral heads and pillar corals. The snorkeling is good all year-round.

To reach the snorkeling at Long Island, most travelers will fly commercial airlines into Nassau on New Providence or fly into Freeport on Grand Bahama Island. To reach the out islands from Nassau, you can either use Bahamas Air (which is known for late departures) or use the mail boat ferry service (393-1064). When flying into Long Island, the main airfield is Deadmans Cay Airport.

Tip: Keep in mind while snorkeling Sea Garden off Long Island, the water temperture is known to vary greatly from summer (78F-84F) to winter (68F-76F).

Overall, Sea Garden is the 10th most popular snorkel dive spot of all 15 snorkeling dives in Long Island.
