Bamboo Point Snorkeling

The 2nd most popular snorkel dive spot in San Salvador.

Southeast of Nassau in the Bahamas, the snorkeling at Bamboo Point on San Salvador is very popular. The Bamboo Point snorkeling is located just south of Cockburn Town on the west coast. The water depth ranges from 10 feet to 30 feet deep.

To reach the snorkeling at San Salvador, most travelers will fly commercial airlines into Nassau on New Providence or fly into Freeport on Grand Bahama Island. To reach the out islands from Nassau, you can either use Bahamas Air (which is known for late departures) or use the mail boat ferry service (393-1064). When traveling to San Salvador by air, you can use the Cockburn Town Airport.

Tip: Keep in mind while snorkeling Bamboo Point off San Salvador, the water temperture is known to vary greatly from summer (78F-84F) to winter (68F-76F).
