Northwest of Southwest Cay off Guanaja Island, the snorkeling at Lee's Pleasure is known for its sand flats leading out to reefs. The boat-accessed Lee's Pleasure snorkeling dive site is located northwest of Southwest Cay in 5 to 50 foot deep waters.
Guanaja Island is surrounded by a fringing reef that is a declared marine reserve. Within the marine reserve, there are 38 designated mooring sites marked by buoys.
After a long day of snorkeling at Lee’s Pleasure, you may want to cool off with a cold drink on Guanaja Island at the Pirates Den Bar, the Crazy Parrott or La Giraida. A good apres-dive meal can be found at either Graham’s Place restaurant or Manati restaurant in Sandy Bay.
To reach the snorkeling at Guanaco Island by air from the mainland, fly into Ramón Villeda Morales International Airport (SAP) in San Pedro Sula. Then, you will need to transfer to an inter-island flight.
To reach the snorkeling on Guanaja Island by air from Roatan, you may be able to find a direct flight to Roatan into Juan Manuel Gálvez International Airport (RTB) from Miami or Houston. There is an inter-island airline called Island Air (504) 9558-8683.
TIP - The sand flies (aka no-see-ums) are known to be voracious year-round. Make sure to bring plenty of bug lotion.
