Maria La Gorda Snorkeling

The 13th most popular snorkel dive spot in Cuba.

Southwest of Havana on the western end of Cuba, the snorkeling at Maria La Gorda is well-known for its clear waters and black corals. This biosphere reserve is also considered one of the top snorkeling spots in Cuba. Located off the west side of the Guanacahabibes Peninsula, the Maria La Gorda snorkeling dive sites have clear waters with visibility up to 30m. During Maria La Gorda snorkeling dives, you may encounter barracuda, snapper, sharks and sea turtles in the black coral gardens. Keep an eye out for the old anchors and cannons.

A good place to start snorkeling in the waters off Maria La Gorda is at the Ancia de Masaya dive site directly off the main hotel and diving center.

To reach the snorkeling on Cuba, fly into Havana Jose Marti International Airport located on the northwest side of the island.

Overall, Maria La Gorda is the 13th most popular snorkel dive spot of all 16 snorkeling dives in Cuba.
