West of Port Of Spain off the northwest point of Trinidad, the snorkeling at Gasper Grande Island is known for good marine life but limited visibility. The best Gasper Grande Island snorkeling is off the southeast side of the island on a rocky prometory extending into the sea. The visibility is limited due to silt, which limits the coral growth, but there are plenty of sea fans and sponges to check out among the boulders in the sea grass. This boat-accessed dive site is in water depths from 5 to 20 feet deep.
To reach Trinidad snorkeling by air from North America, fly into Piarco International Airport (POS) located southeast of Port Of Spain. Gasper Grande Island is located about 8 miles west of Port Of Spain.
Overall, Gasper Grande Island is the 2nd most popular snorkel dive spot of all 5 snorkeling dives in Trinidad.
