On the northshore of St Barts east of the airport, the snorkeling at Anse De Lorient (aka Lorient Beach) is popular for its sea turtles. The water visibility off Lorient Beach ranges from 15 to 25 feet of clarity. For the highest visibility and best snorkeling at Anse de Lorient, you'll want to find a calm surf day that is windless.

To reach the snorkeling on St Barts by air, you will need to fly into Saint Barthélemy Airport (SBH) on the northwest side of the island. To reach Saint Barthélemy Airport, there are regular flights from either St Maarten (SXM) and San Juan Puerto Rico (SJU).

In addition to air service, there is regular ferry boat service between Sint Maarten, Saba and Sint Eustatius from both Great Bay Express Ferry, Voyager Ferry and Edge Ferries. When leaving St Martin and then leaving St Barts, there are departure taxes to be paid at both locations.

Overall, Anse De Lorient is the 4th most popular snorkel dive spot of all 4 snorkeling dives in St Barts.
