West of Dublin and northwest of Castlebar on Achill Island, the Keem Beach snorkel trail is part of the well-known Blueway Snorkel Trail system. The underwater snorkel trail begins just below the main car park and heads to the right. While snorkeling off Keem Beach, you may encounter triggerfish, spider crabs and basking sharks. With the weak tidal flow, this is a good snorkel dive for beginners. The Keem Beach snorkel trail follows the southern side of the bay With the cool waters, you may want to use a thin wetsuit when snorkeling at Achill Island.
