West of Dublin and northwest of Galway on the west coast, the Inishbofin Island snorkel trail is part of the well-known Blueway Snorkel Trail system. It is accessible from Fawnmore Beach just across the road from Doonmore Hotel. There is a public car park on the left side of the road just past the hotel. The best snorkeling is to the west, but keep an eye out for boat traffic. The snorkel trail is about 300m long to the mouth of the harbour. In addition to the snorkel trail, there are several other good beaches for snorkeling on Inishbofin, especially those on the east coast. During Inishbofin Island snorkeling, you may encounter spider crabs, starfish, mussels, starfish and anemones. Inishbofin Island is accessible only by ferry. With the cool waters, you may want to use a thin wetsuit when snorkeling at Inishbofin Island.
Overall, Inishbofin Blueway Snorkel Trail is the 6th most popular snorkel dive spot of all 6 snorkeling dives in Ireland.
