Cayo Aurora Snorkeling

The 15th most popular snorkel dive spot in Puerto Rico.

Southwest of Ponce and southeast of Guanica off Puerto Rico, the snorkeling at Cayo Aurora offers exceptionally clear water with plentiful marine life. Also known as Gilligans Island, the protected snorkel spots are good for beginners and kids The coastal mangrove forests are very scenic. You will most likely see barracudas and other fish.

To reach Puerto Rico by air, fly into Luis Munoz Marin International Airport (SJU). Isla Caja de Muerto is located about 5 miles off the coast. While there used to be a government-operated ferry, there is now only one private snorkeling charter tour boat.
