Typically, there are sand flats with some sea grass from the shore out to 300 feet offshore where the reef starts. The water depth ranges from 4 to 12 feet deep. During Aqaba Marine Park snorkeling, you may encounter pufferfish, damselfish, clownfish, moray eels, sea turtles and lionfish.
The Aqaba Marine Park is located about 6 miles south of the village of Aqaba on South Beach Highway. The best snorkeling can be found across the street from the Bedouin Garden Village hotel.
