On the south coast of Sint Maarten, the snorkeling at Cole Bay is highlighted by a rocky coast with seagrass beds. This snorkel spot is ideal if its a sunny day with calm winds and low surf. The water clarity typically ranges from 10 to 15 feet of visibility at most.

To reach the snorkeling on Sint Maarten by air, fly into Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM). Note, there is a $30USD departure tax collected at the airport. When driving to the Cole Bay snorkel spot, you'll need to pass through an oil tank storage field and then park in the Seaside Nature Park (which isn't too scenic).

TIP: Plan for a few extra days on your snorkeling trip to St Martin/Sint Maarten to make use of the ferries to other nearby islands. There are two ferries providing service to Anguilla, and one ferry heading over to St Barts. Matter of fact, many tourists use these ferries for day trips to the islands.

Overall, Cole Bay is the 14th most popular snorkel dive spot of all 15 snorkeling dives in St Martin - Sint Maarten. Several of the better snorkeling spots are nearby Cole Bay including Little Bay, Maho Bay, Oyster Bay Beach, Dawn Beach and Cay Bay.
