On the south coast of Sint Maarten, the snorkeling at Cole Bay is highlighted by a rocky coast with seagrass beds. This snorkel spot is ideal if its a sunny day with calm winds and low surf. The water clarity typically ranges from 10 to 15 feet of visibility at most.
To reach the snorkeling on Sint Maarten by air, fly into Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM). Note, there is a $30USD departure tax collected at the airport. When driving to the Cole Bay snorkel spot, you'll need to pass through an oil tank storage field and then park in the Seaside Nature Park (which isn't too scenic).
TIP: Plan for a few extra days on your snorkeling trip to St Martin/Sint Maarten to make use of the ferries to other nearby islands.
